Refund policy

RETURNS & REFUND POLICY

Trade Outlet Scotland Ltd supplies new, used, ex-commercial, ex-display, clearance, surplus, discontinued and liquidation goods. Some products may show signs of previous use, storage, handling or cosmetic wear.

Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

CONSUMER PURCHASES

If you purchase from us as a consumer online, you may have a statutory right to cancel your order under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Where this statutory cancellation right applies, you have 14 days from the day after you receive the goods to notify us that you wish to cancel.

After notifying us, you must return the goods within the applicable statutory period.

Trade Outlet Scotland Ltd does not provide an additional voluntary 30-day change-of-mind return period.

To request a cancellation or return, contact:

info@tradeoutletscotland.co.uk

Please contact us before returning goods so that we can provide the appropriate return instructions and address.

CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURN COSTS

Where a consumer exercises an applicable statutory cancellation right because they have changed their mind, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Many of our products are large, heavy or commercial items requiring pallet, specialist courier or other commercial transportation. Return transportation costs can therefore be substantial.

Customers should consider this before ordering.

CONDITION OF CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURNS

Consumers may inspect goods to the extent reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.

Where goods have been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary and their value has consequently been reduced, Trade Outlet Scotland Ltd reserves the right to make an appropriate deduction from the refund where permitted by law.

Where reasonably possible, goods should be returned with their original packaging, accessories, components, manuals and other items supplied with them.

BUSINESS & TRADE CUSTOMERS

Where goods are purchased wholly or mainly for business, trade, resale, craft or professional purposes, the transaction will be treated as a business-to-business transaction.

Business and trade customers do not benefit from consumer change-of-mind cancellation rights.

Unless Trade Outlet Scotland Ltd expressly agrees otherwise in writing, business and trade purchases are final.

We do not accept business or trade returns merely because the buyer:

• changes their mind;
• no longer requires the goods;
• orders the wrong item;
• finds the goods unsuitable for their particular intended application;
• subsequently purchases an alternative elsewhere; or
• is unable to use, install, transport or resell the goods as originally intended.

Business customers are responsible for satisfying themselves before purchase that the goods are suitable for their intended purpose, including any relevant dimensions, capacity, electrical supply, phase, gas, plumbing, installation or compatibility requirements.

Nothing in this section excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful.

USED, EX-COMMERCIAL, CLEARANCE & SURPLUS GOODS

A significant proportion of our stock consists of used, ex-commercial, ex-display, surplus, clearance, discontinued or liquidation goods.

Such products may show characteristics consistent with their age, history and previous use, including cosmetic marks, scratches, dents, discolouration, signs of storage or previous installation, or missing original packaging.

Customers should carefully review the product description and available photographs before purchasing.

If additional information regarding an item's condition is required, customers should contact us before ordering.

Where a particular defect, imperfection, limitation or condition has been clearly disclosed before purchase, that disclosure forms part of the description and condition of the goods.

UNTESTED, FAULTY, INCOMPLETE & SPARES/REPAIR GOODS

Certain products may specifically be advertised as untested, faulty, incomplete, spares or repair, requiring servicing or repair, or having a particular known defect.

Where applicable, this will be stated in the product listing or otherwise communicated before purchase.

Customers purchasing such goods should make their purchasing decision based upon the disclosed condition.

A defect or limitation specifically disclosed before purchase should not subsequently be treated as an undisclosed defect.

Nothing in this section removes statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.

DAMAGED, FAULTY OR INCORRECT GOODS

Customers should inspect their order as soon as reasonably possible following delivery.

If you believe an item has arrived damaged, is materially different from its description, is faulty, or you have received the wrong item, contact:

info@tradeoutletscotland.co.uk

Please provide your order details and, where appropriate, photographs or video showing the reported issue.

We will assess the matter and provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable legal rights.

DELIVERY DAMAGE

Where goods are delivered by pallet, courier or another transport provider, customers should inspect the shipment for visible damage where reasonably possible.

If goods or packaging appear damaged on arrival, please photograph the condition of the shipment and notify us as soon as reasonably possible.

Photographs, videos and delivery information may be requested to assist us in investigating a claim with the carrier.

COLLECTION ORDERS

Customers collecting goods are encouraged to inspect the goods at collection where reasonably practicable.

Where appropriate, customers may be given an opportunity to inspect equipment or see it demonstrated before taking it away.

Inspection or acceptance at collection does not remove statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

TILES, JOB LOTS & CLEARANCE LOTS

Customers purchasing tiles, job lots, discontinued products or clearance stock should check that the quantity, dimensions, colour, specification and disclosed condition are suitable for their requirements before ordering.

Shade, colour, calibre and other variations can occur between manufacturing batches, particularly with discontinued, older or clearance stock.

Where a particular batch, shade, calibre, quantity, condition or known variation has been disclosed before purchase, this forms part of the description of the goods.

We recommend purchasing sufficient quantities for the intended project because identical additional stock may subsequently be unavailable.

This does not affect statutory rights concerning goods that are faulty or not as described.

REFUNDS

Where a refund is legally due, it will normally be made using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed or permitted by law.

Refunds will be processed within the timescales required by applicable law.

Once a refund has been issued, additional processing time may be required by the customer's bank, card provider or payment provider.

Where legally permitted, we reserve the right to withhold reimbursement until we have received the returned goods or the customer has supplied satisfactory evidence that the goods have been returned, whichever occurs first.

RETURN PROCEDURE

Before returning any item, contact:

Trade Outlet Scotland Ltd
Email: info@tradeoutletscotland.co.uk

We will provide the appropriate return instructions and return address.

Do not return goods to our registered office, warehouse or any other address unless Trade Outlet Scotland Ltd has specifically instructed you to do so.

UNAUTHORISED RETURNS

Goods returned without first contacting us may cause delays in identifying and processing the return.

Where a return is permitted, customers should follow the return instructions provided by Trade Outlet Scotland Ltd.

STATUTORY RIGHTS

Nothing in this Returns & Refund Policy is intended to exclude, restrict or replace statutory rights or remedies which cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

Where any provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory legal right applicable to a consumer, that mandatory legal right will take precedence.
